Vernante Piedmont
Small and fascinating tourist destination where nature and tranquility reign supreme.
The small town of Vernante, with its truly ancient heart, rises in the heart of the Vermenagna Valley. Vernante owes its name to the Verna plant which grows prolifically in the valley and features on the towns coat of arms.
Among the sites of particular interest the Turusela Castle, the Parish Church of St Nicolao. Not to be missed: the over 90 murales depict episodes from the tale of Pinocchio.
Vernante is surrounded by a centuries old beech wood which is part of the Palanfrée Nature Reserve of Woods and Lakes.
