With its 18th century town architecture, Asti has a great number of monuments to visit including Asti Cathedral, the Rotonda of the Santo Sepolcro, Palazzo Amico di Castell'Alfero, Palazzo Zoya, the Tower Bridge of Lombriasco, the Casa dei Strata e dei Della Rovere, the Fountain of the Acqueduct Fontana, the remains of the Roman Amphitheatre, Palazzo dei Cistercensi.

The production of DOC wines, such as Barbera and Moscato, from which the Asti Spumante and Grignolino d'Asti derive is important. Events held in the city include the Palio d'Asti.
